BANana's
Tuesday, January 20, 2004:
1. Back in high school when I was debating whether or not to drop Pre-calculus, my teacher gave me some advice about life. She told me that as life proceeds, certain windows of opportunity begin to close one by one. In order for me to keep as many windows of opportunity open, I had to accept certain responsibilities. By this, she was suggesting that I stay in my Pre-calculus class. If that day I had decided to drop the class, I would not have been able to take Calculus the following year. By staying in that class I managed to keep my windows open in fields such as Mechanical Engineering.
Now, I see another window of opportunity in front of me. When people are born into the world few are born leaders, while others are created from life experiences. By becoming a resident advisor I wish to challenge my abilities as a leader. Becoming a resident adviser would benefit my life by teaching me responsibility and leadership skills.
2. In the past I a have led small groups of people in orchestra. As the section leader of the Bass section, I was required to teach the other students in the bass section and lead them in shaping the music we played.
Working on group projects in high school also gave me a taste of leadership, but from another point of view. By working in a group, I was required to listen to the opinions of others and suggesting my own opinions and interacting with the group to make decisions.
As secretary of the Computer Science and Engineering Society, I have learned to lead from back stage. By helping the president and vice president behind scenes, we are able to lead the club efficiently.
3. During this past summer I happened to acquire a job at a local theatre. This experience proved valuable. The job required that I be able to follow directions as well as ease the tensions of distressed costumers. The type of attitude I maintained was one that served and respected not only my managers but more importantly the customers. Though the position may not have seemed like a leadership role, leadership comes in many different forms. After all, I was still responsible for the enjoyment of the customers in the theatre.
4. An ideal residential community would be one that is constantly interacting with each other. I wish that residents can help each other, either in managing stress, studying together, or even just playing a game of capture the flag and working together to score a point for the team.
As resident advisor, my job would be to bring this community together. By holding floor meetings, events, and study breaks the residents would get to know each other and hopefully form the basis of this community. Also, another responsibility that I take on as a resident advisor is that I ensure the safety of my residents. I would have to inform every one of campus rules as well as enforce them directly or indirectly. Also, I would have to tell students about campus services such as the campus escort services when students are walking home from late evening classes.
In general my responsibilities as a resident advisor would be to ensure the safety of residents as well as guide them in any dilemmas they may have. Also, I wish to create a community where everyone gets to know each other and can help and depend on each other.

you were a pain in the ass, you made me cry, you made me laugh, you made me see things differently, you made me sacrifice, you made me understand, you gave me joy, you gave me strength, you gave me new friends, you made me lose old friends, you made my heart, you broke my heart, you gave me drinks, you gave me smokes, you let me quit, you made me fat, you made me lose weight, you made me old, you made things hard, you saved my life, you made me love, you made me hate, you made it the best and the worst of my life. Goodbye year two thousand three.

I'm like a VCR.....I'm easily replaced, but not easily fixed....
Do something that i'm proud of... be proud of what i do
Look to the future... but remember the past.
My #1 lesson to anyone... DOn't assume what u don't know... and you don't know anything... everythings constantly changing, be open to addapting to alternate thoughts and viewpoints. Don't be so sure of yourself
I feel like i need to talk to you but for once in my life I don't know what to say.
I feel as if something went horibbly wrong and that i'm the one to pay.
If i were to travel back in time a year from now ... and tell my young self how it would be.
He wouldn't believe me or understand what I see.
I'd beg and beg for him to make the right choice.
So when I returned to the future, I could rejoice.
But instead of revealing myself i'll keep things this way.
And it looks as though this is how it will to stay.
Allen's plans hm...

25th surgery, then after that no more physical activity for a while (6 weeks aprox.)
Chill for a while until the 13th. Then time for boston... be back on the 20th.
It'd be easier to just fly to san diego direct. But Daniel's parents wanted me to help
dan move in.... hm....
